This question is important given the recent legislative moves in Harrisburg to finally open the state for direct shipment of wine - as long as it's not foreign wines being shipped.
Funding to Fight Illegal Dumps
The Department of Environmental Protection has awarded a $449,182 grant to Keep Pennsylvania Beautiful to identify illegal dumpsites in Pennsylvania, spread awareness of improper waste disposal and promote environmental stewardship.
State regs reduce gas-drilling impacts
A study released Tuesday by the University at Buffalo's new shale gas institute concludes that state oversight of gas drilling has been effective at reducing environmental problems in Pennsylvania and will prevent major problems in New York if the state allows drilling to begin.
